Generative AI in Higher Ed: Tips and Tricks from IR/IE Professionals Part 1

In fall 2023, AIR surveyed its members to explore generative AI adoption across IR/IE offices. Findings revealed that while fewer than 20% of offices were proactively using AI, most professionals recognized its potential to improve efficiency and effectiveness. This first webinar in a four-part series features demonstrations from IR/IE professionals on real-world applications of generative AI. Participants will learn how to use AI tools to draft generic goals aligned with institutional strategies, creatively identify administrative contributions to student success, summarize research findings for resource libraries, and generate accessible project descriptions for broader audiences. This session provides valuable starting points for integrating AI into your daily IR/IE work.

  • Draft generic academic program goals aligned with institutional strategic priorities.
  • Identify innovative ways administrative units can support student success initiatives.
  • Summarize research findings effectively for a resource library using AI.
  • Generate plain-language descriptions of complex analytical projects for broader audiences.
