Introduction to Project Management

Institutional researchers are often asked to work on projects. Projects, by definition, are temporary endeavors undertaken to create a unique product, service, or result. Although no two projects are the same, they share common characteristics and processes. Understanding this framework of activities, process groups, and knowledge areas helps project managers and team members plan, executive and deliver on project objectives. This webinar will provide a brief overview of the project management framework and principles as described by the Project Management Institute.

As a result of this webinar, participants will:

  • Understand the process groups and knowledge areas
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities in a project
  • Gain awareness of project documentation
