Design and Implementation of a New Program Review Process: Lessons Learned

This webinar highlights the development and implementation of a new academic program review process at a small liberal arts university, led by the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment. Building on existing program assessment and prioritization efforts, the new system includes annual reflections tied to institutional priorities and comprehensive program reviews every five years. The process encourages data-driven reflection on program effectiveness and strengthens alignment with institutional accreditation standards. Lessons learned from challenges faced and solutions found during implementation are also discussed.

  • Understand the rationale for developing a program review system that aligns with assessment practices.
  • Explain how the program review process supports alignment with institutional budgeting and planning cycles.
